What will you own

  • Go-to-market strategy across B2B and B2C
  • Product positioning, packaging (pricing, licensing, commercial models)
  • Pipeline creation and qualification (B2B and B2C channels)
  • Conversion of opportunities into revenue (contracts, partnerships, launches)
  • Development of strategic partnerships (ATOs, flight schools, airline training organisations)
  • Commercial performance (revenue targets, growth trajectory)
  • CRM quality, pipeline visibility, and forecast accuracy (maintained in JIRA currently)
  • Commercial budget ownership and allocation
  • Development of the commercial team

Who you are

  • You are a commercially driven leader who combines strategic thinking with execution focus with minimum 5 years of seniority in Business Development/Go-to-Market positions.
  • You understand how to build markets, not just manage pipelines. You are comfortable operating with incomplete information, validating demand early, and scaling what works. You are ready to present a proven track record of building and executing GTM plans.
  • You can engage credibly with both professional aviation clients and consumer markets, and you understand how product, pricing, and positioning influence adoption.
  • Experience in technology-driven or credibility-critical industries is required. Aviation experience is an advantage.

What success looks like (12–18 months)

  • A qualified and visible pipeline is established
  • First B2B pilot projects and partnerships are converted into contracts
  • New product revenue targets are met or exceeded (Year-1 Revenue Target: +1M EUR)
  • B2C growth shows measurable traction (user base / pre-orders)
  • Strategic partnerships (ATO / training organisations) are active
  • Forecasts are reliable, and CRM data is trusted
  • The company has a repeatable and scalable GTM model

We are looking for a senior business development leader to create and execute our growth strategy for the upcoming years.

As Director of Business Development, you will be accountable for generating new business opportunities, converting them into revenue, and structuring how our products reach both professional and consumer markets.

About Propair Flight

Propair Flight is an aviation training and technology company with a team of around 40 professionals, building high-fidelity, innovative training solutions for professional and consumer pilots worldwide.

The company is entering a phase of significant growth over the coming years, expanding both its aviation training portfolio and its operational scale, while maintaining a strong focus on delivery quality, realism and credibility.

The current portfolio already includes multiple market-ready products used in both professional training and the consumer flight simulation market, providing a strong base for further commercial growth. At the same time, new solutions are in development and expected to reach the market soon, ensuring a steady pipeline to support ongoing business development.

The role

  • As Director of Business Development, you own how our products translate into revenue.
  • You are responsible for defining and executing a global go-to-market strategy across B2B and B2C channels, building a qualified pipeline and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue streams.
  • You will work closely with Product, Technology, and Operations to ensure that market demand, product positioning, and delivery capabilities are aligned.
  • You will lead the commercial function (sales & marketing) and be accountable for revenue outcomes.

What you will not own

  • Product development execution, technical architecture, or delivery operations.
  • You will collaborate closely with the COO and CTO, but your domain is demand creation and revenue generation.

Reporting & scope

  • Reports to: CEO
  • Direct reports: Sales and marketing manager
  • Peer roles: CTO, COO, member of the Senior leadership team.

Location & presence

This role is based in Budapest. Regular on-site presence is essential: at least three days per week in the Budapest office. International candidates are welcome; however, the role requires living in or relocating to the Budapest area. High-level English knowledge is a must; Hungarian is not mandatory.

Compensation & package

Competitive base salary for a senior commercial leadership role, performance-based bonus tied to revenue and growth outcomes, and long-term upside aligned with company growth. Hybrid setup within the on-site presence requirement. The exact package will reflect seniority, experience, and impact.

  5. Management interview (CEO and/or CTO, COO) – An in-person interview (3–4 hours) with management to explore alignment, collaboration style, and long-term fit.
  6. Selection & offer – Final decision and, if successful, a job offer.
  7. We aim to keep you informed at every stage and move as quickly as possible through the process.
