Our client is an International Industrial Group specialised in alumina with a turn over of 150 Millions Euros. He is looking for a sales manager as per the following:

The role is to manage business relationships with our client’s accounts, particularly in the ceramics, thermal management, refractories, abrasives, special glass and flame retardant sectors, across Eastern Europe and Great Britain.

The main responsibility of the Sales Manager is to handle the entire customer relationship—from the first contact to final payment. The Sales Manager represents our client to customers, while also conveying customers’ perspectives within the organization.

Responsibilities

This position contributes to and is accountable for managing market relationships to optimize our position and maximize value in line with business objectives. This includes:

Customer Relationship and Sales Management (60%)

  • Develop business by acquiring new customers or expanding existing ones.
  • Maintain relationships with customers at all relevant levels (management, purchasing, technical).
  • Manage the relationship from initial contact (prospect) to final payment (credit management).
  • Negotiate contract terms in line with the EMEAI Director’s guidelines.
  • Manage selected distributors in Eastern Europe and Great Britain.
  • Handle payment processes and risk management in collaboration with Sales Administration and Credit Control.
  • Coordinate and monitor customer sampling activities.
  • Act as the customer interface in claim-handling processes.
  • Map customer organizations to understand decision-making processes.
  • Participate locally in key account management.

Reporting and Planning (20%)

  • Prepare visit reports capturing both short-term activities and long-term customer needs.
  • Provide monthly performance reports on the customer portfolio.
  • Prepare rolling 3-month sales forecasts to support planning processes.
  • Contribute to budget processes.
  • Prepare a weekly sales action plan.

Market Analysis (20%)

  • Analyze customer activities to gain a comprehensive understanding of key market drivers.
  • Develop and maintain local relationships with key industry players (co-suppliers, trade associations).
  • Identify and monitor direct and indirect competitive threats.
  • Participate in specific market studies and new product launches.

Dimensions

The Sales Manager has a direct impact on our customer interactions (currently 80 active accounts). This includes volumes and revenues of the account portfolio (approximately €10 million), as well as credit management, claims, and sampling.

Frequent travel (over 50% of the time) is required to visit customers across the region.

Through accurate forecasting, the Sales Manager also contributes to industrial operations (production and stock management) and planning processes (budgeting).

Externally, the Sales Manager is Alteo’s main point of contact for customers and represents our local image.

– Responsible for a network of distributors and agents.

– Constant interaction with Sales Assistants.

– Regular collaboration with Technical Support and R&D.

– Interaction with Controlling.
