Responsibilities

 Cookie Beacon is looking for an experienced restaurant manager to lead our stores’ operations in Budapest, Hungary. We currently have 3 stores in Budapest and may open one more.
Cookie Beacon’s operations in Hungary already have over 100 employees divided across our kitchen, production, cookie, and floor teams.
The person selected for this role would be in charge of two key areas: Human Resources (HR) and Operations.

The HR component of this job involves:
– Interviewing (following our comprehensive two-round screening process involving psychotechnical behavioral tests)
– Supervising performance of all team members to ensure quality is met and business continues to grow
– Providing effective communication of company policies and updates across all teams
– Effectively and efficiently solving interpersonal conflicts or similar situations between team members

The Operations component of this job involves:
– Ensuring that all existing operational manuals and procedures are being correctly followed by team members
– Lead the continuous improvement of operational manuals and procedures + effectively and efficiently implement said changes
– Ensure that all business performance success metrics are being met. In case of failure, identify reasons which caused failure and recommend and implement effective improvements
– Ensure compliance of all legal and sanitary requirements across all company operations
– Act as the liaison between company ownership and day-to-day operations
– Coordinate with the company’s admin and accounting team to ensure succesful and smooth output

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant restaurant management experience
  • Strong Hungarian communication skills (written and spoken) 
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken) 
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset 
  • Solution-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to challenges
  • Team player with positive energy, good communication skills, and a collaborative attitude 
  • Can quickly and successfully understand the company’s mission, vision, and values

Nice-to-have

  • Strong Spanish communication skills (written and spoken) 
  • Extensive experience interviewing and managing people 
  • A personality that genuinely enjoys solving challenges and appreciates freedom in finding solutions instead of being micro-managed
  • Comprehensive specialty coffee knowledge and experience
