At least a BSc degree in computer science
2+ years of experience in test automation, with experience related to event-driven systems and Kafka test scenarios
Strong understanding of QA methodologies (functional, regression, smoke, UAT, exploratory)
Strong coding skills in at least one relevant language (Java, Python, JavaScript) to write and extend unit, component and integration tests
Experience with integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, …)
Understanding of SDLC and Agile/Scrum practices
Ability to create clear and comprehensive test documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think like an end-user
Good communication skills to work across dev and QA teams
Fluent in Hungarian, both written and spoken
Fluent in English, both written and spoken

We are currently looking for a Test automation engineer for one of the long-running adventures of GG Development.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to design and execute test strategies for the automated tests of a mobile application, while also diving into unit and integration testing. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality delivery. Beyond test automation, you will actively contribute to fostering a quality-first mindset within the team, helping to embed best practices and making sure that quality is considered at every stage of development.

Implement and maintain automated tests with modern frameworks (e.g. Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG, PyTest)
Write and extend unit, component, and integration tests
Integrate the automated tests into the CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, …)
Contribute to system tests to keep test automation high and improve coverage where necessary
Execute manual tests as necessary
Participate in defect triage, provide detailed bug reports, and verify fixes
Continue the topic of test data creation to stabilise manual and automated tests
Adapt Test Concept (focus on Unit and Component Tests) and Infrastructure for Kafka and VAS-BE
Bring quality mindset into the refinement meetings and challenge tickets’ acceptance criteria
Act as sparring partner and specialist for colleagues’ test-related questions
Help the team embed quality into the process, by sharing knowledge, coaching colleagues, and championing a proactive approach to testing
Keep an eye on SonarQube
